Meet Mr. Kuldeep Singh - the bus driver hero
Daily Pioneer interviews
the bus driver hero
who threw away the bomb planted in his bus near Govindpuri, in the process saving 40 lives and getting himself badly injured.
Recounting the fateful incident to The Pioneer on Thursday, Kuldeep Singh, the braveheart, said. "I had only seen it in Hindi movies - a ticking clock wrapped in colourful wires connected to bombs. I had never thought I will come across such a thing in real life."
Gasping in pain, Kuldeep carried on, "Seeing the wires and the clock, I realised it was a bomb. Immediately, I asked the passengers to leave the bus. I was about to get down, after throwing the bag out of the bus, but could not escape injury as the bomb went off."
Amazing, this guy did'nt lose his nerves even after the blast.
This calm and composed man of 30, who is now frequently seen by VVIPS, however, said modestly, "I did what I thought best at the moment. It was only presence of mind which averted a bigger tragedy." Sitting on his bed at D-7 in the high-dependency ward of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Kuldeep was worried about his eight months' pregnant wife, Nigam. "I just pray to God that she keeps good health and there is no problem during delivery."
His request to the attending doctors on that fateful Saturday evening was not to tell his wife about the incident. He only gave contact numbers of his neighbours.
Indeed a real hero. We salute you sir.
